Virtual learning is growing
Virtual learning is growing among k-12 students. However, the demand is not being addressed on the policy side according to the article in edweek. Protocols of engagement should be written to address how on line teacherscomminicate with students. The question is how much of a difference will face to face meetings make in the overall learning process? Professionals are encouraging face to face interaction between teachers and students as often as possible. I think this is a valid point, especially for k-12 students participating in virtual learning classes. My son participates in a virtual learning environment part-time, while attending a traditional brick and mortar school for the remaining of his subject hours. He gets a call from his teacher once a week and participates in a virtual classroom session with his other classmates once a week.
