assessments in class

I am looking at the various kinds of assessments in class. The two assessment types being discussed are formative and summative assessments. The formative assessment structure is dynamic and can be applied for different reasons at various points of the learning process. I've used formative assessments to motivate and encourage a learner to take ownership of their learning process. The summative assessment captures the student's performance at the end of the academic performance cycle. Technology can assist instructional designers with refining the quality and delivery of these assessment types.
