Motivation is a neutral dynamic that can be used to fuel success. A lack of motivation can contribute to poor output but linking motivation as the only reason why a group of employees under perform could be difficult to prove. Motivated workers may focus harder to overcome obstacles in comparison to employees lacking motivation. Managers must communicate to workers the value of being motivated. If workers can't connect value to the reason why they should be motivated, they will continue to be underachievers.
