State of the Union (innovation and education)

President Obama’s State of the Union speech focused heavily upon the United States’ imperative need to lead the nations in the world in innovation. An achievement which can only be done by improving our educational system by putting more money into the governmental education of American children, and consequently giving the United States a strong economy and industrial growth.

Declaring that the only way to fully recover our economy and “win the future,” President Obama pushed for American innovation to “make America the best place on Earth to do business.” The United States’ capitalism encourages its citizens to work hard to create optimal results. In seeking to create these results, innovation kicks in to continually make everything bigger and better. By the government supplying the funds to keep innovators’ minds rolling, new jobs are consequently supplied. President Obama has determined that the economy will not only pull through, but also come out as the leading economy in the world. Through the government giving money to various research and technological facets, jobs will be created and money will pour into the economy.

President Obama continued in his State of the Union by saying that in order for the United States to lead in innovation, American children must grow up with a strong, sound education. “If we want to win the future…we also have to win the race to educate our kids.” With the United States government providing funding to schools and therefore improving the education taught in public schools, students will be more motivated to achieve. In this way, they can take up the banner of innovation and run forward with it by applying their education to growing fields in today’s world.
