A portion of this post is in response to a class discussion, addressing the idea of using social networking tools in a standard classroom setting. My classmate didn't think it was a good idea to incorporate these technologies into the standard learning process. Technology like Twitter and other social networking digital tools carry the potential to disrupt the standard learning process.
An article I read suggested that disrupting the learning process can help facilitate a new approach to learning. I think that technology serves its purpose when it is used to create new knowledge. Unpredictable consequences, added to a structured debate, may give way to a new learning model.
