Using Twitter as a second layer of communications in the classroom. What do you think? C. Camplese, University of Pennsylvania's director of education-technology services is attempting to merge this social networking mammoth into a traditional classroom setting. I'm sure the number of people who may have reservations concerning this approach outweighs the opinion of those comfortable with the idea of using twitter in a traditional classroom. One important statement Mr. Camplese mentioned made perfect sense, at least within my digital thought process. He suggested that this second layer of communication would hopefully disrupt the conventional classroom model, giving way to a 21st century learning model defined by an innovative learning exchange. This may be a case where technology facilitates the creation of a new classroom learning experience. In my opinion, innovation is usually born from unintentional consequences. I'm curious to see how our institutions are going to look after the digital clouds settle. Article
